A perfect storm for the poor
Under the Trump administration, millions of Americans could lose food stamp benefits.
This includes over half-a-million children . Because of this policy, almost 800,000 households who currently receive benefits from under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are in poverty, and roughly 500,000 children could lose eligibility for the school free lunch program.
Just this month, Trump is proposing a major change that would terminate Social Security disability payments to hundreds of thousands of disabled Americans, particularly children and elderly citizens. It’s astounding how this administration can arbitrarily turn their backs on the poor, children, the elderly and the disabled.
Trump continues to cut worthwhile programs and as a result he creates and fosters a perfect storm for the poor.
