War on Christmas

In response to: Full page ad Spokesman Dec. 13:

It’s Christmas time and once again the war on Christmas and Christianity surfaces in a full-page Spokesman ad. “Dark Agenda” is the name of right’s fictional conspiracy that the left will destroy Christianity in America.

Somehow, we are asked to believe that we are victims of a political war if we believe in God. I am unaware of any such victimization. Christian church parking lots are full every Saturday or Sunday depending on your choice of worship days. I don’t see atheists blocking Christians from entering their churches.

What I do see it a scam to obtain votes from gullible Christians who think they must be politically right in order to be a Christian. I am not in favor of mixing religion and politics. The result is the same as mixing fire with explosives. Do you really want to see Christians shooting and bombing each other like they did in Northern Ireland? We have become victims of our own thinking when we invent dark agendas and feel threatened by them.

Any religious believer targets himself when he forces his beliefs on other citizens using the body politic. My advice would be to change your party affiliation to “Christian” and be subject to the same laws and regulations like any other political organization. Are the teachings of Jesus more aligned with Democrats or Republicans? A Republican baby Jesus would be born in a Trump tower instead of a stable.
