Land of the Brave

America is so special and set apart from other countries because of the ideals on which it was built: freedom and equality! For so long, Americans have been an example to the world of how many cultures, races, religions, and ideas can come together to form a more Perfect Union.

But lately, I have been discouraged to witness the erosion of these founding principles. The president of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, does not represent America or her people. His actions and comments have fostered an atmosphere of hate in the country of acceptance. He has made lies the new normal in a country that once sought the truth. He has instilled fear in the Land of the Brave.

Donald Trump is unfit to be our president. It is time that We the People make this message loud and clear. It’s time to Dump Donald Trump.

The Spokesman-Review invites original letters on local topics of public interest. Your letter must adhere to the following rules:

  • No more than 250 words
  • We reserve the right to reject letters that are not factually correct, racist or are written with malice.
  • We cannot accept more than one letter a month from the same writer.
  • With each letter, include your daytime phone number and street address.
  • The Spokesman-Review retains the nonexclusive right to archive and re-publish any material submitted for publication.
