I voted yes on I-976

How many years has Eastern Washington and Spokane been paying the higher license fees without the benefit of our roads and bridges as well as the North-South Freeway getting the much-needed repairs or being completed? I voted yes on I-976, as did a majority of voters who likely are struggling to survive as middle-class workers, working poor, and those on fixed incomes.

Isn’t it amazing that huge corporations like Microsoft, Amazon and the like spent $2.9 million on the campaign putting the fear of God into voters to vote against I-976. It is my understanding Microsoft netted $8.9 billion last year.

Spokane is asking where are they going to find funding? The huge corporations along with the ultra rich who made the huge tax cuts no thanks to our current corrupt leadership (my opinion) in the White House. So why aren’t we looking at the huge corporations for assistance with funding to invest in our infrastructure? Has anyone investigated how much they contribute to the state’s transportation budget?

It is my understanding Washington is third in paying the highest gas taxes, fourth in paying the highest combined state and sales taxes — as well as millions of dollars in revenue from toll roads and bridges on the West Side. Who is managing the transportation budget? Is it equally distributed throughout the state?

Why are we giving so much power to big corporations to bleed funds from those least able to afford it as well as not having benefited from higher tab fee?.
