Studded tires work

This letter is written in response to Rep. Cindy Ryu bill to place $100 fee on each studded tire (“Ban studded tires?” Getting There, Feb. 4).

I am wondering if I am the only reader who finds the irony in a Shoreline, Washington, politician introducing a bill that will primarily impact those of us who live in Eastern Washington? It feels as appropriate as Cathy McMorris Rodgers writing legislation on issues mostly impacting Western Washington residents.

As someone who drives for a living, which I am pretty sure is not the case of Rep. Cindy Ryu, nothing drives as safe as studded tires on icy roads. Cindy, stick to issues affecting those you serve and leave the rest of us alone.
