Earn the yes vote

Dear Police Department:

You had me at “property crime” prevention. Yes, I voted to add 20 officers to the force.

This comes at a cost of hundreds of dollars to me and most of us who voted Yes. Here’s the deal: every last one of those additional personal needs to work the night shift. We are sick and tired of the night-prowling going on in our neighborhoods. That is why we voted yes to deal with the escalating nuisance crime at night.

That’s the deal - get a handle on night crime or do not look for another yes vote.

Thanks for your service.
