No new jail until …

Just no, Mr. French! No expensive jail building until you can demonstrate progress on equal treatment for all, not biased by race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability and age.

I have confidence in our sheriff, one of the few Republicans I vote for, because we spent 23 years working together on crimes against children and I know him to be honest and have integrity. But since Sept. 11, 2001, fear has stalked our land and militarization of local law enforcement is a sad outcome.

No new building, not until you can demonstrably change the hearts and minds of your workforce.
