More to special-ed students

Bravo to WSU and Brenda Barrio for launching a Special Education program for college-age students with educational or developmental disabilities.

My ex-husband taught Special Education in Michigan and I enjoyed tagging along as a chaperone when he took the class on field trips. I was amazed by the interests and talents some of these students had. Maria loved music and she could listen to a song just once and sing it word for word. She also had an interest in people that were well-dressed. Ethan was mesmerized with water and Jacob was fascinated with numbers. How great it would have been for these students if their talents and interests could have been developed in a similar program as what WSU offers.

If you pay attention, there is so much more to these students. How fortunate you are, Evan, that your education and your horizons have been expanded. You go Evan Henniger, you go!
