Respect for those elected

I wish to address two letters to the editor I read on Jan. 9.

In response to “Worthy of admiration”: in whole, anyone who rises to the level of a constitutionally elected president deserves respect. Failing to respect the position is in fact failing to respect the Constitution.

That said - Michelle Obama does deserve the respect due a former FLOTUS, granted, but we all have opinions and mine is 180 degrees from yours.

Secondly, the Obama administration was not “scandal free.” I think a little research on your part would have elevated your statement/ Remember the IRS, Benghazi, James Rosen, Holder’s perjury, Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Sebelius soliciting donations, etc. - there are over 30.

To address the letter, “Behind their own wall”: Trump is one man against the entrenched bureaucracy of corruption in Washington, D.C., yet has managed to energize the economy, bring back manufacturing, empowered our military, returned respect to America, cut taxes, etc. What makes this president really stand out, he is the only one who has addressed the problems others ignored, such as trade deficits and border security. Currently there are 22.1 million illegals residing in the U.S., costing taxpayers $137 billion a year. Enough is enough.
