Why respect Trump?

In truth, there is little reason for the media or anyone else, myself included, to respect this charlatan. He has shown no respect, but rather disdain, for individuals across every cross-section of our society, for years, including veterans, the disabled, women, many others. He shows no respect for the sacred institutions of government or for those who toil within it. The only respect Trump has is for the sad sycophants who bow in fear to his every whim, caught in the toxic stew, risking his wrath and petulance if they do not. His own self-respect seems in short supply. No man who acts in this way can have much self-respect, with his lies, ignorance, obfuscating and manipulation. He is doing immense harm to this great nation.

Trump was elected by the Electoral College, losing the popular vote by nearly three million votes. He lost the House last fall by an enormous blue wave. He has made absolutely no effort to unite this country in any way, as good and decent presidents of either party attempt to do, quite the opposite. Honestly, do he and his minions really expect to win re-election polling currently at 35 percent and falling? From the latest news (not fake) it looks like there could even be grounds for treason charges forthcoming. We will know soon enough and maybe and hopefully this nightmare train-wreck mess of an administration can be put to rest and eventually our great nation can come together and heal from this cancer.
