Snow gates work

Two years ago, on Jan. 19, 2017, the Spokesman published a letter to the editor that we had submitted urging the county to install “gates” on their snowplows to reduce or eliminate the berms created at each driveway when the plows moves past our home.

Last night, a county plow worked our street. We ran to the window, dreading the berm. And we were so happy and relieved to see the plow had a gate that dropped at each driveway in our neighborhood. The driver was able to clear the street without undue delay. We are very grateful to the driver and the county for modifying the snow plow so that both our streets and our driveways are cleared without leaving berms. This is a big improvement and we and our backs (and our neighbors) very much appreciate your consideration.
