Why Dems can’t give in

Most things I read or see on TV equate Donald Trump’s position on the McConnell shutdown to the Dems’ position. I think that’s living in the past.

Trump is not our normal POTUS. He lies more than most of us have ever heard a person lie. He’s proven he can’t be trusted in negotiations. In December, Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell came to an agreement. Mitch would assure the Senate would vote for the bill if Trump committed to sign it. They came to an agreement! Then right-wing provocateurs Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh attacked the man who told us he was the best negotiator in the country if not the world and he abandoned his commitment to the Senate GOP and Mitch.

No matter what, we can’t give Trump his wall. He’s trying to undo the last hundred years of our nation.

McConnell should do his job for the sake of the nation. Unfortunately, he is clinging to his party, instead. The Senate can pass the bill Trump rejected. They can probably pass it with enough votes to override Trump’s veto. It would save our nation. It would remind POTUS he’s not king.
