A double standard?

Why does it seem that everyone believes the crown prince of Saudi Arabia gave the order to have Khashoggi killed only because no one would have done it without his direct order, yet only half the people in America seem to believe that although Donald Trump’s people who he has surrounded himself with for years have been indicted, but that he didn’t also know full well what was going on?
