Harris misquote has different meaning
In his June 28 front-page Spokesman-Review article headlined “Ten candidates quarrelsome on key issues,” Jim Camden misquoted Kamala Harris. In context of what America wants from the Democratic presidential candidate, he quoted her as saying, “They want to know how they’re going to put food on the table.” Actually, she said, “They want to know how we’re going to put food on their table.” The audience cheered, and none of the other nine candidates took exception.
The progressive, socialist-leaning Democratic Party and its supporters would have Americans be as domesticated animals, happy to be herded in any direction the elitist Democratic Party desires.
Foolishly, many Americans believe the erroneous promises, and desire to eat at the trough that the elites fill. Fulfillment of this “Utopian” vision will banish liberty, suppress incentive for individual excellence and industry, and bring banality and mediocrity to our society.
Already, socialists and progressives have replaced true justice with “social justice” in many minds. They praise groupthink, and deem people who defy rational thought and the obvious as the brightest among us, and exalt those people as the purveyors of societal progress. This leads us into darkness. It’s their only way to power.
