Random does not mean irresponsible

What R.H. Simpson labels “Some random thoughts” (Letter to the Editor, June 29) are not. Rather, they are the characteristic litter of a small, ill-tempered, ignorant mentality.

This is demonstrated by his baseless canard that “Democrats” would block finding a cure for cancer to childish comprehension of the nature of global economics and climate deterioration. What the writer grandiosely (and laughably) terms “my theory of electability and political popularity” turns out simply to be a blanket and totally unsubstantiated dismissal of a handful of thoughtful, respected American elected officials who all happen to be Democrats.

Simpson’s sole grounds are that they “are uniformed, idiotic people.”

Finally, the bent, and I use the word advisedly, of the writer’s mind is revealed by the charge, again an unsupported generality, that “most Democratic candidates are only bucking for a cushy job.” These are not “random” nor “thoughts” but rather the excretion of a misanthropic and pathetic mind.
