Systemic chaos at the border

Many of us are so weary of the media and the politicians creating a problem, then using their platform to sway public opinion.

The reality is that it is the policies enacted by Congress and previous administrations that have made this chaos at our borders and added to the misery of these poor people — many of whom are victims of our unworkable policies (re: “Local protest, new images, online outrage,” July 3).

The misery and suffering created by our politicians’ refusal to change laws and policies and secure our border are incalculable. By our failure to create an orderly system, we have increased suffering exponentially, yet the politicians do not care, because their games to gain power take precedence over the needs of the poor of this world and the well being of our nation.

Why not use your pulpit, including your headlines, to responsibly educate your readers on controversial issues?

Dr. James Dobson’s comprehensive and compassionate account of his visit to the border in his July “Family Talk” newsletter would be an excellent place to start.
