Multicare priority is bottom line

Multicare is a not-for-profit corporation (that means they do not have to put their profits back into their programs) providing medical services in our community. Its CEO has degrees from a nonrated college but no experience in the medical field is listed. Accounting is listed; those who look only at the bottom line.

I have been with Rockwood since 2012. Since Multicare took over, I have had to change primary doctors three times and specialists twice. That is because they all left. My primary doctors were experienced, knowledgeable and my chart didn’t overwhelm them. As my last physician said, “That is my job.”

My allergist left because her department wasn’t making any money. It was closed. I went elsewhere. One of my specialists left and was replaced by youth and inexperience.

In searching for primary physicians at Multicare, many were young inexperienced doctors. Eliminating older experienced doctors and replacing them with younger ones saves money.

I liked Rockwood because doctors could communicate with each other and my physicians have made a positive difference in my over-all health. Having to change primary physicians every year does not give me continuity in my health care. As a result, I will look elsewhere for primary care.
