Options vs. responsibilities

I’m afraid Mrs. Derks has a very skewed sense of responsibility (“Pregnancy takes two,” May 25). Yes it takes a man and a woman to make a baby. However a woman has the option to:

1. Abort the child

2. Give it up for adoption

3. Leave it at a fire station, hospital, church or wherever she pleases and will be told what a courageous decision she has made.

A man on the other hand will:

1. Be financially responsible for that child

2. Be charged with murder for directly or indirectly causing the death of that same unborn child in 33 states.

With all due respect, I’m not sure if you and your husband can truly understand responsibility!
