Keep building our country
The headline, “A debt we can never fully repay,” on May 28 was totally correct; however, there are many ways to try. First and foremost, continue to build our nation in the spirit for which so many died to protect. Individual liberty, as our Constitution not just implies but guarantees, is the key to our survival as a democratic republic and sovereign nation. Men and women fought and continue to fight defending our liberties from the moment our forefathers determined that British or any outside rule was unjust. Now too many, here and around the world, are trying their best to undermine our nation’s promised liberties and our nation’s example to the world as the leader of free societies.
Certainly we as a nation are not perfect. It is said that this whole business is a grand experiment. Let’s not throw away what has been accomplished. Let’s build, not tear down. Be sure to have our future generations as proud as most of us are to be citizens of this great country.
