Short-sighted planning

The county just approved a 36-house development in a small area in Chattaroy, next to the fire station and across the street from a large manufactured home park. If anyone from the planning office would drive on either access road they would realize that it is totally inadequate and unsafe now. No shoulder, eroding roadway, too much traffic now and to my knowledge, no environmental impact study was required.

Shouldn’t infrastructure be in place before approving such a project? There was a hearing where many voiced their concerns about the impact on this area so close to the Little Spokane River drainage. I am not opposed to development, but in the wrong place without adequate planning in place seems short-sighted.
