Conversation, more like sermon

It felt like a worship service at the Library’s Drag Queen Story Hour “Conversation” Thursday evening. However, there was too much deception, and I’m not talking about the hair and make-up. Ms. Nova declared that drag is only performance art, but the DQSH website admits that DQSH “gives children a glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role model,” and, the focus is on reading stories that will normalize gender fluidity to children. “Gender is fluid, not immutable. There are five genders,” asserted the EWU Women’s Study professor.

The “sermon” included an admonition to love your gay neighbor as yourself. Yes, but true love doesn’t mean accepting and affirming everything your neighbor does, especially if it is harmful to body and soul. Pastor Andy CastroLang asserted that anyone who won’t affirm the LGBTQ agenda is a bully and, essentially, a “domestic terrorist.” She also cautioned us about opening and reading our dusty Bibles.

What about the benefits of DQSH? The panel agreed that children will learn to appreciate and celebrate LGBTQ individuality and expression and maybe some will find their “true self”.

Hopefully, Spokane families will not join this “choir,” and remember: You can’t fool Mother Nature.
