Think hard about 51st state

As an electrical industry professional licensed by the state of Washington, I raise the question who will assume those regulatory duties if a new 51st state is created.

My certification, as many that are registered within Washington, comes with conditions that are closely monitored for compliance and adherence to local and state laws. This list of professional licensures encompasses hundreds of thousands of individuals who range from teachers to doctors to nurses and beyond. To publish a claim, as the Liberty State website indicates, less government regulation will be required and thusly reduce taxation and monetary burden dispensed by our current state government.

Since the new proposed 51st state constitution is still being drafted, how all current policies, laws, rules and regulations will be incorporated is still a mystery. I suggest each potential new resident carefully consider what Rep. Matt Shea is proposing and seek further information on issues which could directly impact/change your daily personal and working experiences.

To calmly sum up my concerns: It seems this ship is rudderless, navigating in dense fog and at full speed; destined to cascade off the flat world we live in.
