Our elected dirt-diggers
I thought that when I voted for our congressmen/women, it was to place them in a position of service to our country — to enact laws for the betterment of the people.
I notice now how much time is spent by many of these congresspeople in committees investigating other government officials, usually of the opposing political party, looking for “dirt.” These investigations even probe into the activities of the relatives and associates of those being investigated to link them with more “dirt.”
Now, even the government of Israel is wanting to investigate the archives of the Vatican to see “if the Catholic Church did enough for the Jewish people” during the Second World War. What good can come from that?
It seems that too many people have such a low self-esteem that the only way they will feel better is if they bring other people down.
How sad. Where’s the positive mental attitude?
