They don’t care about Shea
I, like many in Washington state, read in horror of the conversation legislator Matt Shea took part in as printed by The Guardian.
In response, I contacted my local legislators of the 7th District. Ms. Maycumber’s assistant was unhappy with the article and promised I would hear back from someone. I called again a week later … as yet, no response.
I contacted Ms. Short’s and Mr. Kretz’s offices that day and a week later. On the later call, Mr. Kretz’s assistant mumbled something about the Republican leadership dealing with it but said someone would get back to me. As of this, no one has. I have gotten no response from Ms. Short’s office at all.
I understand that my legislators are busy people, but Matt Shea is a cancer in our state and in our state government. When you have a cancer in your body, you don’t dither. You remove it.
The lack of response from my legislators tells me that they don’t care about Shea, his inappropriate ideology or me as a constituent. They have lost my trust and respect. I do hope they aren’t surprised when they lose my vote next election.
