The unimaginable is reality, now

On Tuesday, May 7, there was yet another school shooting in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Being a student in high school makes this is a very big fear of mine, and in some way school shootings have started to feel personal to me. I have never been involved in a devastating situation like this, but I can’t imagine what it would be like to go to a place where you spend a lot of time and have a shooting happen. Although our school has done practice lock downs and has tried to put a plan in place, nothing can really prepare anyone for a situation like this.

Years ago, school shootings seemed like they weren’t a huge concern, but this unimaginable situation has become a reality for many students and teachers.
