Either way, nothing’s free
I have a question for the socialism vs. capitalism letter writers. Does a zebra have white-and-black stripes or black-and-white stripes?
You can drive down a government highway or a toll road owned by a corporation. Each will cost you money to use in taxes or tolls. The cost is the same since nothing is free in our society. You can pay the government or a corporation for services.
The government works best with roads, sewers and water lines. Corporations work best if you want to eat a pizza or buy furniture. Our society has a mixture of public and private services. You can’t find pure capitalism or socialism in any country. The power lines that run down a street can either be a public utility or an energy corporation. Capitalism has a monopoly power line and socialism has one power line owned and operated by the government. The kilowatts are the same.
I strongly reject the branding of socialism with Democrats and capitalism with Republicans. Both ideologies require payment of taxes or corporate fees. Somebody has to feed the zebra no matter its stripes.
