Another time bomb

In his May 8 letter (“Unemployment, demographics”), Bob Tattershall mentioned retiring baby boomers as contributing to our nation’s low unemployment. He called it a time bomb that is decreasing the number of workers available to support the growing elderly population.

I would like to add another demographic time bomb that is depriving the nation of workers: the high rate of abortions. Since 1973, our nation has voluntarily eliminated 61,275,915 potential workers. Sixty-one million! (http://www.numberofabortions.com). How long will we be able to fund Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid?
