Keep Spokane booming

Spokane is booming! We are in the midst of an amazing transformation with new businesses investing in our city daily. Where there were abandoned buildings, there are now offices, retail shops, galleries, restaurants, condos and coffee shops. North Monroe and Sprague avenues are more vibrant, pedestrian friendly neighborhoods. We have a medical school in the University District, and Riverfront Park has been given a gorgeous makeover. And while there are hundreds of people responsible for these changes, Ben Stuckart’s years of responsible and steady leadership at City Council have been vital to these successful outcomes.

In contrast, Nadine Woodward, who played no part in these positive changes, has two fatal flaws: First, she has no experience – in leadership, business or government – that would remotely qualify her for the mayor’s job. A clueless mayor will cost everyone.

Second, and more troubling, is the dishonesty inherent in her campaign as she tries to hide her true GOP leanings for fear they will be rejected by the majority of voters (“Working overtime to avoid GOP label,” Oct. 25). In other words, she’s purposefully misleading voters by hiding an integral part of who she is. That says it all.

Vote for Ben Stuckart.
