The experience we need

As a former Spokane County commissioner and mayor of Spokane, I have always valued the importance of experience in public office.

In the Spokane mayor’s race we have the classic distinction between a candidate with experience and effective leadership skills and one who clearly lacks experience and even basic knowledge of city government and services.

Candidate Ben Stuckart has proven to be an honest, capable, hard-working and effective public servant. He has eight years of firsthand experience as an officeholder in city government. That is critically important.

His opponent, on the other hand, has no experience whatsoever in local government. Ben Stuckart, with his experience, will hit the ground running on Day 1 as mayor. His opponent will need months of on-the-job learning to catch-up.

That is one of many, many reasons why I am supporting Ben Stuckart for mayor. He is clearly the most experienced, capable and best candidate.
