We need I-976
I was going to vote no on Initiative 976 but after going through the Advisory Votes — all of them tax increases without a vote of the citizens of Washington — I have decided to vote for Mr. Eyman’s initiative.
Why am I now voting yes on 976? It is simply frustration and a small way to get a small reduction in taxes. I totaled up all the advisories and came up with a total of $18,759,000,000 in new taxes over the next 10 years and was shocked! That is almost $19 billion with a B!! These were all passed by our legislature who, need I remind you, is now controlled by the tax-and-spend Democrats in both houses and signed into law by our tax-and-spend governor.
Somehow we need to get some political balance in Olympia. If we don’t make some changes this will go on for years. Only you, the voter, can make this change. Though it is only and advisory please vote to repeal these House bills.
