Woodward has no conflicts

While Ben Stuckart and his backers complain about support Nadine Woodward is receiving from outside of Spokane, they seem to overlook the fact that Stuckart supporters, under the name Citizens for Liberty and Labor, have raised over $234,000 and so far more than $176,000 has been spent on attack ads against Nadine Woodward, according to their PDC report. At least $112,000 of the total has come from Seattle and other Western Washington interests, primarily unions. Hypocrisy at its worst!

Also note that these are some of the same people, under a different name, who were fined $10,000 (reduced to $7,000 if no future violations occurred) by the Public Disclosure Commission in 2017 for campaign violations.

And did you know that so far $80,000 spent on these ads attacking Nadine Woodward has been donated by the Spokane Firefighters’ Union PAC; the same union that contributed heavily to Spokane for Honest Government in 2015 that spent $94,000 in independent expenditures to elect council members Karen Stratton and Lori Kinnear.

Let’s see. Fund the campaigns of those who set and approve your wages and benefits. Expecting a return on this investment? You bet! Conflict of interest? Most definitely!

We need a change in leadership. Rather than spending so much on attack ads, we need to focus on issues that directly affect us, like quality of life, public safety and solutions to help the homeless. Vote for Nadine Woodward for mayor. She will come into office without conflicts or baggage.
