Patriotism for personal gain

It is the continuing, alarming position of Donald Trump that you cannot trust anyone but him and of course he states he is “perfect”.

The Deep State government (meaning any unelected “shadow government” operating behind the scenes of a democracy (e.g. Rudy Giuliani and the Ukraine illegal activities) that he, the Republican Party and the “base have come to support against the constitution of the United States of America and the Republic for which it stands that was hard won with loss of life and limb, should deeply frighten and disturb any conscious individual.

Where has patriotism gone? Has all sense of meaning and purpose been forgone for personal gain (e.g. the G-7 summit at a Trump resort) really? The support of dictators and murders across the globe by this presidency is abhorrent and still MAGA hats and signs don the heads and yards. Good God, folks, what are you doing? Is this the humanity you fill your churches and place of worship with. Is this what you have been taught?
