Beggs has inclusive solutions

When I was chair of the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood council, Breean Beggs was at every meeting, listening to the neighbors’ concerns and gathering feedback on proposed legislation. He wouldn’t leave our meetings until everyone had a chance to speak and share their opinions. Councilmember Beggs has a leadership style that is inclusive and thoughtful of all people involved in the process.

At neighborhood meetings, he would first review every project and proposed law he was working on with the city, and then go around the room and ask each person from our neighborhood what concerns and ideas they had. Breean prioritized deep and thoughtful exchanges with each person, not the lip service that is typical from politicians.

While those attending our meetings frequently had varying beliefs or disagreements, Breean found a way to truly make people feel heard. He often found solutions that were innovative and helped build consensus whenever people had opposing views. He acted on those concerns to improve our neighborhood however he could.

Breean is the proven advocate that we need leading our City Council.
