Stuckart revitalized downtown

I strongly support Ben Stuckart as the next mayor of Spokane. He is a proven, experienced and highly successful leader who has earned the office of mayor.

As president of the City Council, Ben presides over a city that thrives as never before. There is a glowing newness to a downtown after decades spent in decline. Numerous other improvement projects including Kendall Yards, North Monroe, South Monroe, East Sprague and South Perry have greatly improved the quality, attractiveness and value of areas that were once in decline. In the Emerson-Garfield neighborhood, my property value is up 76% since 2015 (Zillow estimate).

As a 75-year-old who frequently walks his 10,000 exercise steps a day downtown, I would like to emphasize that I have visited virtually every part of that area and have never felt in any danger, certainly not from the homeless. I am particularly offended by Nadine Woodward’s suggestion that people don’t feel safe downtown or in the library. Clearly, going from zero experience to mayor is a step too far for Woodward.
