Peetz knows the ropes

Recent radio ads being aired by Arne Woodard have alleged “council members” have been accused of accepting bribes. If Mr. Woodard is reading this on Facebook then he would be well served to check the information he is seeing as to the truth of the statements.

Then Woodard states something about being accused of raising taxes. The reality is that at a council meeting on Oct. 1 there was a discussion to place on the agenda an item to find a dedicated revenue source for funding roads and Woodard voted for it. A dedicated revenue source would be a tax. Ms. Rasmussen touts her work experience at city hall as the reason to elect her to the Spokane Valley City Council. Yes, she does have experience as an executive assistant to the city manager. But doing the reports and paperwork as an assistant does not necessarily give you the skills for serving on city council. And I would know. Although I was a business owner for 33 years, budgeting and making hundreds of decisions made based on the laws governing a city as a council member was on-the-job training. Brandi Peetz has already spent two years learning the ropes of what make a good council member by doing the research and work needed to make informed decisions.

Choose wisely and re-elect Brandi Peetz. And Mr. Woodard, perhaps you should retire if you think listening to little kids is a waste of time.
