Upriver community ignored
Again the City Council did not listen to the citizens of the Upriver community. Instead they listened to the money of one of their biggest donors, Avista Utilities.
A new park is not needed for our homeless population to hang out in — drive down Mission Avenue as I have at 8 p.m. at night and see all the homeless in the pavilion. Mission Park is a large park that few people use because of the homeless. Ask those neighbors how they like the homeless population that gathers on their front steps. The city will now divert the traffic through the Indiana Street neighborhood to Hamilton Street. I hope the Indiana Street neighborhood enjoys the new traffic going down their once peaceful streets.
All so the runners and boaters that don’t live in our neighborhoods can enjoy our river, while the Upriver community deals with the congestion and homeless population. Thanks Spokane City Council.
