Vilifying Shea
I had hoped with Rob Curley at the helm of The Spokesman-Review reporting of local news would be accurate and objective.
Recent articles by Shawn “Vitriol” Vestal and associates marginalize and vilify Spokane Valley legislator Matt Shea. I’m not surprised he doesn’t talk to the spinning media.
I met Matt when he was pounding a sign for a judge in our yard. It was a cold, rainy day. I was making soup and oatmeal cookies. Since it was noon I invited him and his associate in for lunch.
I invited Ozzie Knezovich and family in for lunch on a hot sweltering day when he put his sign in our yard on his first run for sheriff.
I invited them both to speak to fifteen young men in a class I facilitated in 2008. Ozzie spoke on “integrity.” I think of that when pondering his inviting representatives of the Southern Poverty Law Center to Spokane to identify “hate” groups and named conservative Christians Dr. Ben Carson, David Barton and Dr. Jennifer Morse.
Discerning truth from lies is necessary. We have lost confidence in some who promote so-called “justice” and undermine “law.”
