Trumpian infallibility
The comedy of the Alabama hurricane brings into focus a new doctrine of infallibility.
The Catholic doctrine is that the pope, when speaking on matters of faith and morals, and in doing so invoking his status as succeeding Peter as bishop of Rome, is protected from error.
On the other hand, the doctrine of Trump infallibility is that whatever Donald Trump says, in any forum whatever and for any reason whatever, cannot be even suspected of being wrong.
