Testing importance

Here’s a thought about the importance of getting tested for the coronavirus if you get sick: the value of immunity. I’m aware of recommendations that you not get tested unless you are sick. Today, If you get a cold or flu symptoms, it could actually just be a cold or the flu and you wouldn’t necessarily know if you had a mild case of the coronavirus or not. However, getting tested to confirm (or not) that you have the virus can answer this valuable question since the majority of people being infected with the virus recover.

If a person gets the virus, is tested and confirmed to have it, aren’t they then immune to getting it again once they recover? If so, wouldn’t they be the perfect people to go back to work in high risk environments, such as nursing? If they can’t get it again and are no longer a risk of exposure to others, they could possibly pick up where doctors and nurses come down with it. This would also be true for any business, for that matter. They could prove they’re safe because they could carry their positive test notification in their wallets once they recover.

Just a thought.
