Life without school
Mead High School is on hold because of the coronavirus. So, I’ve got plenty of time to relax. At least that’s what I thought when I was walking home on the last school day. I was told by my parents that this is not a vacation, and that I would still be learning even though school was shut down.
My mom made a schedule, and now I’m being forced to work on packets for my six weeks of quarantine. My only hope is that I get ahead of the curve and come back to school ready to resume my learning. I suppose my parents are only doing their best to keep my knowledge up to date and fresh. It may feel like a victory to them, but I feel like they are just slowing the inevitable loss of information.
But I will not despair, for there are still good things to come out of things like this. For example, more time to bond with my family. More time to go hiking, exercise and self reflect. There are plenty more good things to come out of this quarantine; people just have to see the silver lining.
