We shall overcome
We are at an unusual crossroad in our lives. Literally our lives are at stake. But it is up to us to make it as painless as possible.
We can confidently follow the suggestions of our local leaders and of Governor Jay Inslee, whom we can respect and trust. And the whole nation is blessed to have a Science Superman in Dr. Anthony Fauci, to whom we can turn for guidance on the pandemic.
Our judgment needs to be clear and not contaminated with lack of facts. There is no need to panic, or watch the news 24-seven, which is sometimes exaggerated and can make us fearful or uneasy.
Let’s help the children while schools are closed. Breakfasts, lunches and laptops are perfect for not interrupting their growth and progress. Parents, be patient as you adjust to a new normal!
Hygiene is a priority, washing hands, not touching our faces, trimmed nails, but also find ways to de-stress and exercise daily — they are medicine for our immune system! Keep a daily routine! Innovate!
Let’s also not forget the homeless! I am almost 88, a widow, but feel blessed to have a roof over my head and a daughter and son who look after me, and grandchildren who call and worry about me.
Let’s not blame each other. This scourge will pass in time. We can make it work. Let’s stay calm, look after each other, and forgive those who make us anxious!
America is ALREADY great!
