Thank you

To everyone who is sheltered in place, to those who step back or move to the side in the pharmacy, to all who recognize the need to sit well away in a doctor’s waiting room: thank you.

My son is being treated for cancer. The surgery he endured was life-altering, and the ongoing treatments ahead promise to be no less challenging. He will almost certainly die if infected by COVID-19. When my son travels to life-sustaining appointments, he must go to out in the world, he has to take his chances with everybody who is not staying home. Each one of them pose a potential risk to him. Any one of them might become the instrument of his demise. More dangerous even than cancer.

I am so very grateful for everyone who is taking the pandemic risk seriously, prioritizing the health of the elderly and our most vulnerable friends and family. Thank you!
