A “non-essential” right?

What schools did our governor attend? Did he take history or civics classes? Was he not paying attention? Juxtaposed in the paper this morning was his determination that marijuana businesses were essential and their rules would be lessened but gun businesses were not so they would be closed.

“Back in the day” some suggested marijuana was a “gateway” drug. How times have changed. Has the gateway been opened and resulted in the use of more drugs? Judge for yourself.

Our founders determined, because of the abuses of some governments in past history, including the one against which they revolted, a basic right to be assured was the right to possess firearms. The right was guaranteed so people could defend themselves against threats, including the government becoming too powerful and desiring to control them. An absolute right provided in a written document - the Constitution. Now it is non-essential?

The right of self-defense is an absolute but the person must be in fear of losing his or her life or that grievous harm will be done to them. So without the ability to purchase a firearm or the ammunition will that rule be lessened? What say you governor?
