Global approach necessary

What is becoming more and more evident is that there are certain situations that can’t be handled on a state level or even a national level. They must be confronted on a global level. We are now in in the midst of one of those situations. The time is over for a piecemeal approach.

The leaders of all nations must set aside their differences and produce a global response to COVID-19. This approach must encompass physical, mental and economic wellness. Scientists from all countries need to work together on possible treatments as well as a vaccine to deal with the virus for the long term. There must a globalized approach to social distancing, the wearing of masks and other other social behaviors that help limit the spread of this virus.

The ability to interact via the internet must be available to everyone so all can interact both socially and with medical personnel. This will help with both medical and physical wellness. As far as the world economy is concerned, until this virus has been successfully controlled, all economic resources must be concentrated for this effort. The world economy will have to be put on hold for the foreseeable future.

When we are out of this crisis, it will be as if this period of time did not exist and the economic situations that existed before this crisis will be put back in place utilizing a gradual process where we then concentrate on the world economy.
