A power trip

One thing I fear more than the coronavirus is that political leaders will become drunk with power after seeing how easily the sheeple can be manipulated. The wisdom and efficacy of the initial shutdown will be debated for years, but its continuation threatens our liberty, our economy, and our nation.

Sadly, there are bureaucrats and elected officials who are delighted with the prospect. They are willing to destroy the country to take revenge on a president who had the temerity to make people less dependent on government, threatens to expose their corruption, and refuses to satisfy their blood-lust for endless war.

Fortunately for Governor Inslee, he will have a good-paying job and a cushy retirement no matter what he does to the rest of us. Oh, and he’ll also have men with guns to protect himself from the pitchfork-wielding peasants.
