Which value is more important?

I find it interesting people out there and here on your opinion page complaining about their constitutional rights of freedom of assembly being violated. Some acting on this as in Matt Shea encouraging supporters to hold rallies. I suspect that many of these people consider themselves Christians or Evangelical Christians. Isn’t there something in biblical teachings about loving your neighbor? If you love your neighbor wouldn’t you want to protect him/her? … not in any way harm them?

Which is more important to you in your priorities: standing on a constitutional right or practicing your religion? Granted, there will always be people out there who use religion to advance their political motives or ideologies.

Religious people often proclaim God’s law to be dominant over secular law, as in the issue of abortion. Is a law restricting freedom of assembly for the common good to be subordinate to biblical teachings? Has your religion gone out the window?
