A plea from an inmate

We are under a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s not getting any better any time soon. The courts and jails shall be closed with the exception of infamous and/or capital violent crimes.

I am a minimum-security inmate being put at risk along with jail staff of getting the COVID-19 virus. Jail and kitchen staff leave the jail and come back the next day, exposing themselves and myself and putting us all at risk of getting sick and/or dying.

The charges I am being held on do not substantiate to a death sentence. Which is exactly what any type of jail sentence or prison sentence would be: a death sentence! Every jail and prison in Washington state has been overrun with virus.

President Trump has made it very clear on One America News that federal and state inmates are five times more likely to get sick and three times more likely to die from COVID-19. This is cruel and unusual punishment to officers, jail staff and minimum security inmates and it is completely inhumane!

Please uphold the law and please uphold the Constitution of the United States. God help us all! When this pandemic first hit, all low-level inmates were released. Please stop putting jail staff and low-level inmates at risk of a death sentence.
