The worst generation

First of all, I do not have anything against motorcycle riders. My father rode one until he was age 77 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and I rode one when I was a police officer. There are many sensible motorcyclists in this nation.

Unfortunately, there were many thousands of others (if the 250,000 is accurate) who proved to be totally irresponsible when they rode to Sturgis, South Dakota, for the annual motorcycle bacchanal. They showed a total disregard for the safety of themselves and others by refusing to wear masks or staying a safe distance from one another during the COVID-19 pandemic. Apparently, they think they are immune from the disease or that it is a hoax.

Actually, they are nothing more than selfish, reckless pigs who care nothing for anyone but themselves. Unfortunately, because of these people and many others who have the same attitude, this country has descended from the “Greatest Generation” to the “Worst Generation.”
