Thoughts about Hanford

My wife from Cheney was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital where the surgeons discovered she was suffering from Hashimoto’s Thyroid. A disease that had been found in survivors of the atomic bomb blasts. For the rest of her life she had to take thyroid medication and eventually succumbed to cancer.

The CDC was instructed to find how widespread this issue was among people living ‘downwind’ from Hanford. They contacted me and wanted me to go to Seattle for a thyroid check. I responded that I lived in Prosser, which they knew, and was not a ‘downwinder.’ I told them about my wife and they weren’t interested because she wasn’t in their sample.

This told me a couple of things about their survey: They added a number of us ‘upwinders’ to skew the results in their favor and as they looked at hospital records if they found anyone with cancer they were omitted. A couple year’s ago my brother in law from Cheney had an appointment with an oncologist who asked him if he were a smoker or a coal miner. The answers were ‘no’ so the doctor said, “You are a downwinder.”

It is clear to me the CDC does not want to know the truth.
