Tiresome attacks

This letter is in reply to Shawn Vestal’s August 12 article titled, “Wake up and help put an end to the nightmare, congresswoman.”

This is just another piece in Shawn Vestal’s ongoing diatribe against Cathy McMorris Rodgers. It is almost indistinguishable from articles in the past in which he rails against Cathy to stand on “principle” or “rediscover the courage of your convictions,” by which he means she should do what he thinks is right. But anyone who knows Cathy would say that she faithfully stands on her convictions and principles.

In his article, Mr. Vestal claims to have only heard Cathy talk about the coronavirus pandemic on Fox News, criticizing Jay Inslee. Perhaps he doesn’t read his own paper, except for the articles he writes. I would encourage him to take a look at all the articles in the Spokesman about what Cathy has been doing and saying during this pandemic. I would also point him to the July 20 letter to the editor titled, “Here’s Cathy.”

In short, your attacks on CMR are tiresome Mr. Vestal.
